Good day! My name is Melody, and I am honored that you are here!
My plant medicine mandalas marry my passions for herbalism, astrology, and mandalas. With them, I hope to inspire and educate people about herbal medicine and its potential for healing people and planet.
Creating your own medicine, especially when you have grown it yourself or found it in the wild, is a deeply connecting, healing experience in and of itself. I have much faith and hope in the wisdom and teaching of both plants and the planets, and what they can teach us. I am grateful to be a student of herbalism and astrology during these changing times, and am happy to share their beauty and wisdom with you.
I was raised in a very rural area of Northern California, and for this I am incredibly grateful and feel blessed beyond belief (thanks Mom and Dad!) I remember spending much of my childhood climbing trees, riding my pony, swimming in creeks, and just generally having a magical time connected with the natural world.
My formal education is diverse. Despite planning to become a veterinarian through most of my childhood and teenage years, I changed course and studied Architecture for 3 years straight out of high school. During what I call my 'college life crisis' I decided I wanted to travel and so I headed to Australia for a year abroad studying Environmental Science and Naturopathy. During that year I travelled alone throughout Australia, Papua New Guinea, Tasmania, New Zealand, and Fiji. This time was an empowering, educational, and transformational experience to say the least. When I returned home to Northern California I attended Chico State for a few more years and finished college with a B.S. in Geography and Planning and a minor in the Geosciences. This is where I met John, my beloved husband. We have two children together and reside in a rural Northern California town, not too far from where I grew up.
I currently work as a natural hoof care practitioner, certified and trained through the Progressive Hoof Care Practitioners, and have been a passionate horse lover/equestrian from a very young age.
I have also worked as a Massage Therapist and Yoga Teacher, among other things.
Currently I am a student of Alchemical Herbalism through the School of Evolutionary Herbalism.
I LOVE to dance, gallop through the woods on my horse, spend quality time with my family, hike in the forest, tend to our garden, practice yoga, make medicine, make cool crafty beautiful things, create a beautiful home, write poems, bask in the sun, swim in creeks and lakes, and read and listen to talks on all things astrology, herbalism, law of attraction, spirituality, dressage and positive reinforcement training for horses! I hope to never stop learning!
Wishing you Wellness,
